Kirsten Adam, Ph.D. (she/her)
Kirsten obtained her PhD. at the University of Chicago with Edward Vogel and Edward Awh, and then spent her post doc years at UCSD working with John Serences. Before graduate school, Kirsten grew up in Iowa and earned her Bachelor’s at the University of Notre Dame. Outside of lab, she enjoys reading speculative fiction, escaping to nature with her dog, and exploring Houston’s delicious food scene.

Ph.D. Students

Olga Kozlova

Olga is a first year doctoral student interested in metacognition and failures of working memory, e.g., feature-binding failures and VWM lapses. She completed her undergraduate Honors Thesis under Dr. Keisuke Fukuda at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Outside of the lab, she’s exploring the Houston/ Texas music scene and bookstores.

 

 

 

Undergraduate Students

Arcadia Hinton-Cooley

Arcadia is a sophomore at Rice University pursuing a major in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy. In the future, she hopes to enter the field of clinical psychology. Outside of the lab, Arcadia is a manager at a student-run business and enjoys weightlifting and embroidery.

 

 

 

Rohini Kompella 

Rohini is an undergraduate student at Rice University (‘27) majoring in Cognitive Sciences with interests in Neuroscience and Psychology. She is interested in researching differences among individuals’ visual attention/working memory and their relationships with mental health disorders and visual impairments. Her first-authored research paper in the European Journal of Ophthalmology developed a mathematical model that predicts drug concentrations and effects for an anti-glaucoma bimatoprost implant. In her free time, Rohini enjoys reading, writing songs, painting, and playing the violin.

 

 

Adriana Padilla

Adriana is a junior at Rice University majoring in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. She is interested in going to graduate school for Forensic Psychology. She’s a member of HACER, the Catholic Student Association, and the Rice Chapter of Best Buddies. On her spare time Adriana likes to read, listen to music, play video games, and spend time with friends and family.
